ABOUT US
POM Gymnastics was established in 2014 as a small initiative managed by parents at the Era Dorina Compound. In 2016, with the support of Gymnastics Australia and the World Gymnastics Federation, a formal program was launched in Papua New Guinea. Through Australian contacts, a school in Toowoomba generously donated nearly an entire gymnasium’s worth of equipment. The parents and committee of POM Gymnastics undertook fundraising efforts for the shipment of the equipment. Special thanks are extended to Total E&P PNG Ltd for their generous donation of 10,000 PGK, which contributed to the shipping costs to Port Moresby.
The success of POM Gymnastics is due to the efforts of many dedicated individuals. Each person involved has played a vital role in the development and growth of the sport, making it both accessible and thriving within the region. Through commitment and passion, POM Gymnastics has become an integral part of the local community, establishing a strong foundation for future generations of gymnasts.
Special mention to the following people for their contributions to the sport: Karen Hansor, Hannah McManus Bennett, Jude Addis, Vanessa Creer, Tanja Rudd, Natalie Pidik, Andrea Sass, Yona Blanchard Destin, Marik-ka Allgood, Jacqui Tieoh, Linda Pulsan, Paul Morea, Eddie Murphy, Alisha Linda Octavian Lucinda, Katrina Ray, Esther Hiltebrand, Suzie Lepani, Hannah Ilave, Kerry Taylor Bryce, Shareena Tanabi, Margaret Brown Ragi, Michelle Garbutt, Clair Chan, Esther Nombri, Christine Chichester and Adam Hester.

THE TEAM
At POM Gymnastics, our coaches are passionate about all things gymnastics and dedicated to nurturing the love of the sport in every athlete. Their commitment to excellence and encouragement creates a positive environment where athletes of all levels can thrive.
We’re also proud to have coaches who are athletes in their own right, including some international competitors in parkour, who bring unique skills and perspectives to our club.
Program Co-ordinator
We’re on the hunt for a Program Coordinator to help grow and expand the reach of gymnastics across PNG! 🤸♀️
We’re looking for someone who can bring strong organisation, energy, and program development skills to the club as we continue building for the future.
Experience in sport, community programs, coaching coordination, or administration would be highly valued.
If you’re passionate about helping sport thrive in PNG and want to be part of an exciting journey, we’d love to hear from you!
